Michael (Jechiel) Hays and his unknown wife were the parents of an unknown number of children (possibly 10 in all). What is known is that six of their sons (Jacob, Judah, Isaac, Solomon, Abraham and David) all emigrated from Holland in the first quarter of the 18th century. All six settled in or near New York City.
A brother and sister, Jacob and Charity, married a sister and brother, Hetty and Isaac Adolphus. Relationships within most of these early families became very complicated.
